We will be screening 'A Mighty Heart' starring the controversial and astonishingly beautiful Angelina Jolie. Angelina Jolie is an Academy Award winner and three time Golden Globe winner with a string of film credits to her name. In August 2001 Jolie was named goodwill ambassador for the UN refugee Agency (UNHCR) accepting the responsibility of meeting with and advocating for the protection of refugees on five continents.
'A Mighty Heart' is based on the book written by Mariane Pearl after her beloved journalist husband, Daniel Pearl, was kidnapped by terrorists in Karachi, Pakistan and held to ransom. This is her story. Bring the tissues to this screening! By the way, the movie is produced by Brad Pitt, one of the film industry's most prominent stars.

Ladies Movie Club celebrates its first birthday.
On August 1st the Mall of Rosebank ladies movie club celebrates its first birthday. Last year the movie club launched at Cinema Nouveau Rosebank and has since grown to become a popular sell out monthly event. Not only does the movie club screen quality art circuit pre-release films but it also showcases new products from cosmetic houses such as Estee Lauder and Elizabeth Arden in the foyer before the show. A welcome drink has become part and parcel of the event and adds to offer a true value added event for the price of a movie ticket (only R40). Recently the Park Hyatt Johannesburg presented a chocolate buffet with Chef Bastian Eversmann as an Easter tribute.The ladies movie club has pre-released and screened some extraordinary films such as 'The Queen' starring academy award winner Helen Mirren and 'Marie Antoinette' which won an academy award for 'Best Costume design'.
The first birthday event takes place on Wednesday August 1st and will be hosted by popular Radio 702 talk show host Kate Turkington. 'Becoming Jane' is the pre-release screening for the first birthday. The film is a speculative biography of the gifted novelist Jane Austen starring the irresistible Anne Hathaway supported with a glittering cast of Maggie Smith, Julie Walters, James Cromwell and James McAvoy. This film is going to be one of the treats of the year.
